Opatrunki na hełmach w 17DPD były bardzo powszechnym zjawiskiem. Bardzo charakterystycznym elementem umundurowania są olbrzymie dodatkowe kieszenie na spodniach. W pułkach spadochronowych powszechne u piechoty szybowcowej były rzadkością.
